We have an excellent opportunity within our friendly department for an enthusiastic and highly motivated technician to join our team.
The role will involve working in the Pharmacy Dispensary and the Pharmacy Aseptic unit. We are developing our Band 4 roles in line with the GPHC new initial education and training requirements for Pharmacy Technicians. Opportunity will be given to applicants who have qualified prior to June 2022 to upskill to this requirement.
If you have good communication skills, are keen to develop within a specialist area of Pharmacy and are able to work well within a team then this is the job for you!
Main duties of the job
In the Dispensary you will contribute to the dispensing of prescription items for in-patients, some out-patients and discharge requests. You will also provide support to the medicines management service including patient's own drug usage schemes.
In the Aseptic unit you will participate in the preparation of CIVAs, cytotoxic medicine and TPN. You will also assist in ensuring the cleaning and monitoring of the suite is maintained at an appropriate level.
It is essential that you are registered as a Pharmacy Technician with the GPhC.
Previous experience within a hospital environment is not essential as full training can be provided.
