Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Healthcare Service Coordinator to join our Cystic Fibrosis Unit at Sheffield Children's Hospital.

The unit is based on our main hospital site and is one of just 13 Cystic Fibrosis specialist centres in the UK. Providing a service for children up to the age of 16 from Sheffield and beyond.

We are looking to recruit a motivated and professional healthcare services co-ordinator on a permanent basis to work with the Cystic Fibrosis team.

There are 2 posts available, each post being 22.5 hours (there is some flexibility around hours for the right candidate)

You will be a compassionate, accountable individual who treats all colleagues, patients and service users with respect and seeks to deliver excellence in their role. They will share the trust values and be committed to equality, diversity and inclusion.

Main duties of the job

Coordinate healthcare services to ensure patient care and treatment is organised effectively within the specialty area. Including all patient administration , database management and treatment scheduling to support the Cystic Fibrosis team.

Coordinate appointments and admissions and maintain treatment schedules for patients ensuring adherence to clinical plans outlined by healthcare professionals.

Greet all visitors to reception and dealing with enquiries. This includes taking messages and relaying to other members of the team.

Maintain patient treatment schedules and medication databases to ensure accurate recording of medication types, dosages and frequencies.

Liaise with multiple clinical areas to coordinate patient care, services, and treatments ensuring a seamless patient experience and facilitating appointment scheduling.

Be the contact for healthcare professionals and patients within the specified medical specialties, assessing calls and enquiries. This includes liaison with external bodies such as pharmaceutical representatives, labs, general practitioners, and charities. To facilitate healthcare service provision and collaboration.

Input and maintain internal databases related to investigation results and patient data, ensuring data accuracy and availability for clinical

Ensure all work is well-presented, and accurate, including completion of booking forms and mailing of appointment letters.
