Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the 0-19 Service at Sheffield Children's NHS Foundation Trust as a 0-19 Community Nursery Nurse.

The postholder will be a compassionate, accountable individual who treats all colleagues, patients and service users with respect and seeks to deliver excellence in their role. They will share the Trust values and be committed to equality, diversity and inclusion.

The postholder will be a key member of the 0-19 Service, who provides Community Public Health delivery through the Healthy Child Programme, The post is within the Fantastic 0-19 Service, who effectively deliver Health Promotion and Support the delivery of the 0-19 Service Specification to ensure that the children and young people in Sheffield reach their full potential safely.

The 0-19 Community Nursery Nurse will be an excellent communicator, and have good interpersonal skills, have experience of working with children, and families, and able to function well as part of a Team, and wider Partners.

Main duties of the job

The 0-19 Community Nursery Nurse will be responsible for:

Providing a comprehensive service to children and families 0-19 years. supervised by a member of the HCP Team

Supporting the 0-19 team in the delivery of the 0-19 Service Specification.

Contributing to activities directed towards promoting the health of the local population.

Delivering interventions as agreed with the 0-19 team to support children and families. This may be done in a variety of settings, including the child health clinic, children's centres, school, outreach centres and the clients' home.

To follow the agreed plan set by the Health Visitor/School Nurse in agreement with the parent/carer for interventions and support to children and families where there are identified additional needs, vulnerabilities and or/safeguarding issues.

To work in partnership with the local community Early Years (Best Start), Childrens Centres, Multi Agency Support Team (MAST) and other agencies/partners in order to assess, identify and meet the public health needs of the children and families within the community.
