Main duties of the job

You will hold the responsibility for working across organisations to lead the implementation of the NHS Long Term Plan commitments and support the implementation of South Yorkshire Strategic Plans for children and young people and deputise for the Programme Director as required.

The programme of work is dynamic in nature. Specific programme activities will emerge and change as the programme develops.

Qualifications

Essential

  • Educated to Masters level or equivalent level of experience of working at a senior level in specialist area.
  • Graduate of the Sheffield MCA programme or other qualification in Service/Quality Improvement or equivalent experience
  • Evidence of CPD
  • Project/Programme Management qualification e.g. PRINCE 2, MSP or equivalent experience

  • Extensive experience using and coaching quality improvement methods
  • Experience of successfully leading large or complex improvement projects and programmes
  • Expert knowledge of portfolio, programme and project management in a NHS context
  • Programme or complex project management experience
  • Must have an understanding of the background to and aims of current healthcare policy and appreciate the implications of this on engagement.
  • Experience of programme/ project budget setting, holding a delegated budget prior to hand-over to operational function.
  • Proven experience in a complex organisation working on projects that involve operational change
  • Demonstrable experience of making significant judgements involving highly complex facts or situations requiring analysis and interpretation from a range of options
  • Evidence of post qualifying and continuing professional development.
