We are looking for an enthusiastic person who enjoys working with children to join our friendly and progressive team.

The successful applicant will work in the plaster room, and be expected to develop skills within this area in preparation for enrolling on and completing the Casting technician course. You must be prepared and committed to complete all necessary written and practical work, whilst being able to attend and complete the course.

The plaster room is situated in the out patients department and supports a wide range of specialities with the age range of the children being 0-16yrs. Our philosophy enhances family centred care, working in partnership with parents and carers and the multi disciplinary team.

Main duties of the job

There will be an opportunity to develop practical casting skills under the supervision of the highly qualified orthopaedic casting team to assist in the delivery of care to children.

A flexible working approach is essential in the provision of this orthopaedic service.

Applicants should have an NVQ level 2 in Health and Social Care and be prepared to commence on the Casting Technician course when this is required.

Previous experience in a paediatric environment is desirable.
