Job summary

We are seeking to recruit a Children's Wellbeing Practitioner to support ongoing development and delivery of low intensity CBT in the Children's Wellbeing Practitioner team. The person appointed will work with the Team Leader, the senior CWPs and the CWP team to support mental health needs of children and young people in Sheffield.

This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a driven and passionate team focused on early intervention and prevention within child and adolescent mental health services. We are looking for a candidate with a qualification in Low Intensity CBT and experience working with children and young people with mental health difficulties as a CWP.

Outstanding support and supervision will be provided and further professional development is actively encouraged and supported. Your skills and knowledge will be nurtured within a diverse professional workforce. You will have opportunities to work alongside colleagues in the wider CAMH service to further develop and share your clinical expertise. You will also have the opportunity to be influential in our commitment to Service User Engagement.

Professionally, you will be registered with the BPS or BABCP, and you will join a well-established and innovative CAMH service which provides regional and national specialist services through direct patient care, consultation and supervision.

Main duties of the job

The post-holder will work within a children and young people's mental health service as part of a multi-disciplinary team delivering, with clinical supervision, high-quality; brief outcome focused evidence-based interventions for children and young people experiencing mild to moderate mental health difficulties.

The post holder will have the necessary knowledge, attitude and capabilities to operate effectively in an inclusive, value driven service.The post holder will work with people with different cultural backgrounds up to the age of 18, using interpreters where necessary and should be committed to equal opportunities.

Essential

  • Evidence of ability to study successfully at degree level or equivalent level of experience
  • Qualification as a Child Wellbeing Practitioner
  • Psychology or health/social care/youth related undergraduate degree

Desirable

  • Training in nursing, social work, occupational therapy, counselling, or within a specific psychological therapy
  • Other relevant post graduate degree
