An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Digital Services team at Sheffield Children's. We are seeking an experienced senior nurse to join us as the Matron for Digital Technology.

We are looking for a highly motivated, innovative and enthusiastic leader who is passionate about the use of digital technology to improve quality of care. Working closely with the CNIO the role will play a key role in the implementation of the Trust's Digital Strategy, developing a partnership relationship between the clinical teams and the digital informatics teams, identifying potential problems and finding solutions. The post holder will be an effective communicator and an excellent team worker. You will need to be enthusiastic about technology use in the NHS and be equipped with excellent leadership skills.

The Matron for Digital will act as liaison with system users and digital informatics teams during all phases of clinical system development and implementation, ensuring consideration is given to clinical safety throughout

The Matron for Digital will engage the clinical management teams in preparation of detailed operational policies and procedures related to a new or optimised systems implementation to ensure the clinical safety standards are met and information governance requirements are adhered to.

Main duties of the job

Partner with the Chief Nursing Information Officer (CNIO) and digital team to integrate clinical digital systems. Ensure that digital systems are seamlessly integrated into clinical workflows. Ensure that these systems enhance patient care and uphold the values of compassion, accountability, respect, and excellence.

Implement and monitor digital systems across the Trust. Oversee the deployment of new digital systems, ensuring they meet the strategic objectives. Regularly review system performance against national and local standards, adjusting as necessary.

Oversee a team of professionals dedicated to the implementation and optimization of digital systems. Provide leadership, mentorship, and support to team members to ensure their professional growth and the success of digital initiatives.

Assist the CNIO in the execution of the digital strategy, ensuring that it aligns with the Trust's overall objectives. Promote collaborative working across departments to achieve strategic goals.

Engage with key stakeholders within the Trust to foster an environment that encourages innovation. Facilitate workshops and meetings to align goals with continuous improvement initiatives.
