Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a registered nurse or health visitor, with experience at band 6 or above to work within our small, dynamic and passionate team whose focus is to provide a high-standard placement practice experience. The successful candidate will have significant experience in assessment of student nurses throughout all stages of their training.

Applicants should discuss with their manager about a secondment before applying.

Working in collaboration with the Matrons, Clinical Educators and Learning Environment Managers throughout the Trust, the successful candidate will have responsibility for;

Ensuring partnership working with universities regarding nursing student placements, assessment, curriculum planning and policy development.

Supporting, educating and advising Learning Environment Managers, Practice Assessors/Practice Supervisors and students throughout the Trust

Supporting student nurses on practice placement

Teaching and Assessing students in practice

Managing the placement Quality Assurance database PARE, collating audit feedback on student experience and ensuring actions are taken where needed to maintain high levels of student learning and experience.

Proactively advocate and develop excellent learning cultures, opportunities and environments for nursing students throughout the Trust.

Main duties of the job

  • Ensuring the NMC Education Standards for pre-registration nursing education are achieved and maintained throughout the Trust

To coordinate the student Practice Supervisor and Assessor (PS/PA) training of nursing staff within the Trust

To liaise with HEI's with regards to student placement, PS/PA training and curriculum development.

To prepare, deliver and review appropriate student training.

To represent PS/PA training in Trust planning in learning and development.
