An excellent secondment opportunity has arisen to work as a Project Support for Digital technology to support clinicians at all levels to deliver various projects in the Digital Programme.
We are seeking enthusiastic and experienced Clinical Support Workers, AHP assistant practitioners or Nursing Associates with a particular passion for digital technologies, education & training to help support digital service development at Sheffield Children's FT. This is an exciting opportunity to join the Digital Services team to support the implementation of several key digital projects within the Digital programme and influence future projects.
We are looking for an individual who has the commitment and passion to support the digital agenda and professional development of colleagues, ensuring that they have the appropriate skills to meet the needs of service users.

Main duties of the job
The purpose of the Clinical Support for Digital technology is to be part of the digital wards programme which is fundamentally a clinical transformation programme partly facilitated by Information management and technology (IM&T) staff. This role will involve supporting the digital team to deliver various projects in the Digital Wards programme, assist with the implementation of key clinical projects and the associated process changes and benefits realisation alongside supporting the clinical teams to utilise the digital systems effectively.
The post holder will support the delivery of education, training and development for the digital projects and is expected to act as a role model to provide clinical leadership to the digital and clinical teams, liaising with medical, nursing, and allied health professionals, sharing expert knowledge and support in the clinical setting.
The role will be undertaken by an experienced Clinical Support Worker, AHP Support or Nursing Associate who will assist with stakeholder engagement, communications, configuration and development of the digital systems and support with training required by the clinical teams. The post holder will be responsible for identifying learning and development needs, delivering training and support the implementation of evidence based patient focused practice within the digital projects.

To be clinical support for the Digital Wards projects and work in conjunction with the Digital Wards Project Team.
IT Systems
- To assist with the implementation of the clinical systems and their subsequent rollout across the Trust working closely with the operational clinical leads in all care settings to determine the optimal configuration of the products for the Trust.
- To use their clinical experience to offer clinical advice and negotiate with clinical and management colleagues.
- To act as an advocate of digital transformation to work with colleagues and in turn support them through change.
- To identify the optimal staff engagement approach at all levels to ensure maximum success of the implementation of the projects.
- To work with multi-disciplinary and project team members to identify issues with current processes and work towards resolutions and new ways of working.
- To be highly visible and supportive in the clinical areas to work alongside all staff groups.
- To identify the benefits of each of the systems, supporting auditing to identify Benefits Realisation and the review of benefits as part of the Benefits Realisation Plan.
- Support with education for implementations of clinical systems across all specialties working closely with the clinical leads and clinical educators.
- To participate in the end user acceptance testing, to ensure the system is clinically sound and any changes introduced meet Trust policy.
- To support with the training programme to ensure that clinical users are trained to a suitable standard.
- To monitor the systems for compliance and act accordingly to address issues of non-compliance. To diagnose the reasons and escalate concerns when appropriate to senior members within the trust.

- To attend the Project Boards/Project Team meetings where required and keep up to date with minutes and highlight reports.

Management and Leadership
- Collaborate with staff at all levels, regarding clinical workflow to ensure successful implementation of technology that benefits patient care and achieves expected outcomes.
- Partner with Digital, Information Technology, Health Information Systems, medical and operational leaders to assess new informatics technology opportunities that impact/improve clinical documentation, workflow efficiency and patient safety.
- Provide leadership for using informatics/technology, promoting the best professional standards in a technology field to support clinical practice.
- Support education needs identified in the project plan to manage and implement defined projects targets, notifying the project manager when issues or problems occur. This will involve supporting with planning and organising training approaches and packages and monitoring their effectiveness.
- Develop effective communication with healthcare professionals to foster a good understanding of clinical informatics systems and the roles and responsibilities of staff who use them.
Education and Training
- Deliver training, and demonstrate the product to all levels of clinical, administrative, and managerial staff in a manner that is appropriate for the audience.
- Deliver training on clinical IT systems being implemented to staff of all levels including clinicians and management.
- Support with the production of user guides and training materials and the structure of training sessions.
- Lead on the planning, developing, refining and evaluation of clinical documentation systems and training programs.
- Ensure adherence to Clinical informatics project timelines, scope definitions and operational budgets.
Professional Practice
- The jobholder will work collaboratively with clinical colleagues to improve the implementation of clinical informatics across the Trust.
- Review practice, audit against agreed standards and liaise with nursing staff to ensure the relevant trust guidelines are applied across the Trust.
- Review clinical practice on wards and to identify where practice goes outside safe limits and to lead any changes in practice which are needed to reduce a risk which has been identified.
- To keep up to date with clinical practice and to demonstrate and maintain a commitment to Continuing Professional Development (CPD).
- Raise concerns with regards to risk, danger, malpractice, or wrongdoing by following the trust policy and supporting processes.
