Job summary

The post holder will work as part of a multidisciplinary team providing first line and remote system support for both hardware and software related issues for colleagues throughout the Trust. The role requires excellent customer service, communication, interpersonal skills and a proven level of technical knowledge of hardware and software applications

Main duties of the job

  • To advise on technical solutions; answering support queries either via phone or email using the tools provided.
  • Respond to enquiries from colleagues and remotely help them resolve any hardware or software incidents, requests and/or problems.
  • Advise upon updates too and creation of new documents and/or standard operating procedures in the 1st line IT knowledge base as required, providing training/overview sessions to colleagues as appropriate.
  • To maintain IT knowledge as developments in the IT industry are made by keeping abreast of advances and new technologies as well as attending appropriate seminars and training courses as required.
  • Participate with knowledge share exercises and training courses to personally development and enhance your skills.
  • Assist with the training and development of new colleagues within the Department

Qualifications & Training

Essential

  • Educated to GCSE Level (A-C) or equivalent in Maths and English.
  • ITIL qualification or relevant technical or professional qualifications or equivalent experience

Experience

Essential

  • Experience delivering a relevant 1st Line support position within an ITIL based Service Desk function
  • Experience using a call logging, Service Desk or similar application to record information.
  • Experience using and troubleshooting Microsoft based desktop and laptop environments
  • Experience supporting Users on both hardware and software applications under pressure
  • Experience working in an ICT Service Management environment.
  • Active Directory administration.

Desirable

  • Experience of working in the NHS or other public sector environment
  • Experience of ITIL Service management processes.
  • Experience in Incident Trending and analysis.

Knowledge & Skills

  • Good degree of IT literacy
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft based operating systems with emphasis on Windows technologies (Including Windows 10)
