Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Mainstream Community CAMHS team at Sheffield Children's NHS Foundation Trust as a Specialist Mental Health Practitioner. This post will share leadership of the newly developed Core CAMHS model.

We have an excellent and welcoming MDT team, offering specialist assessment and interventions to children and young people in Sheffield, with mental health difficulties.

We offer direct work with families and young people, as well as collaborating with the services around the family, to develop a shared understanding of a young person's needs, to promote quality of life and emotional wellbeing.

We aim to deliver a first class, high quality service. To do this, we are making improvements to ensure there is the investment in the service model and staff by offering excellent supervision and training staff to deliver the first class service we want for children and young people attending mental health services.

Main duties of the job

  • To have a Clinical and Managerial leadership role in the development of Core CAMHS
  • As an independent practitioner have accountability and responsibility for your own caseload
  • Demonstrate skills within assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care / treatment packages for children, young people and families
  • To demonstrate practice over a range of interventions
  • To work in collaboration with colleagues working in CAMHS and the wider education and social care network to provide a holistic package of care / treatment for identified children, young peopleand families
  • Work autonomously and collaboratively with colleagues providing interventions at the clinical base, clients homes or other appropriate venues
  • To lead, manage and give clear direction to junior Nursing / Mental Health Practitioners colleagues
  • To ensure that the guiding principles of Clinical Governance are in place and that they are utilised to maintain and enhance clinical practice and quality within the team
  • To promote, monitor and maintain best practice in clinical risk management, health and safety and security of self, others and the workplace
