Job summary

We are looking for a speech and language therapy assistant to join our paediatric service on a permanent basis two days a week 15 hours.

Main duties of the job

The successful applicant will work one day a week supporting speech sound programmes for children with complex needs, and one day a week supporting speech and language programmes for children with Developmental Language Disorders (DLD).

Job description

Job responsibilities

On both days, the successful applicant will be working with primary aged children in mainstream schools and integrated resources, under the supervision of an experienced Speech and Language Therapist.

Thechildren will be aged from 5-11 years old, with a range of presentations including non verbal children requiring signing, visual support and early language work, children requiring vocabulary and sentence level work, and speech sound work. The successful applicant will work with them for a block of weekly or fortnightly sessions. All training would be provided and there will be ongoing opportunities for shadowing both speech and language therapists and assistants. The successful applicant will be working in a range of primary schools across the city, throughout the day and therefore will need access to their own transport.
