Job summary

This role is responsible for providing project and data support within the Theatre department in the Surgery and Critical Care Division, predominantly to support the delivery of quality care & activity targets.

Main duties of the job

MAIN DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide data and admin support to current quality & activity demands for the Theatre department.
  • Assist the Divisional Management Team in the planning, co-ordination and completion of specific tasks
  • Liaise with key individuals at all levels within the organisation. This will involve telephone & email correspondence and face to face contact
  • Provide support to the Divisional Management Team in the preparation and maintenance of a range of project and system documentation e.g. planning, scheduling & attending Divisional meetings.
  • Collect, review and verify information sources & ensure they are accurate and correct
  • Where anomalies in data are identified discuss with managers, clinicians and other staff as required to determine the correct information is submitted
  • The nature of the job on rare occasions may necessitate the need for flexible working (possibly at times prior to submission of key data, when out of hours work is necessary)
  • The individual should also be prepared to undertake any other admin duties within the position as time allows and as agreed with the line manager.

  • The need to develop, update and track project plans against their milestones, ensuring that tasks are chased and recorded and highlight reports are provided when requested
  • To work closely with the Operational management team on delivery of data requests, including identifying risks.
  • Support the writing of presentations and reports
  • To take ownership for the in house patient administration system by delivering training, troubleshooting problems and general maintenance.
