We have an exciting opportunity within our friendly department for an enthusiastic and highly motivated individual to to join our team as a Therapy Equipment Co-ordinator.
The successful candidate will support the assessment and prescription of disability equipment for children under the care of the occupational therapy and physiotherapy service in Sheffield. In addition, you will assist in the delivery and issue of equipment to children with disabilities andfacilitate training in the use of disability equipment for staff within the therapy services. You will be based at Ryegate Children's Centre but will support children in their homes, nurseries and schools across Sheffield.

This is a part time role for 18.75 hrs per week but would ideally work in conjunction with advert ref 425-23-5584517, in an additional role as a Therapy Assistant within the Early Years team.
Main duties of the job
Following the assessment of need by a qualified occupational therapist or physiotherapist, to source quotes and assist in the acquisition of the appropriate item via the Sheffield Community Equipment Loan Service, enabling the therapist to provide equipment that is fit for purpose and meets the need for the individual child.
To assist in the delivery and issue of disability equipment for children under the care of the occupational therapy and physiotherapy service in Sheffield. This may involve arranging the delivery of some items to children's homes, nurseries or schools, setting the equipment to fit the child and training the parents / carers in it's use.
To represent the service in meetings and communications with the Community Equipment Loan Service and the Local Authority staff managing the service
To provide expertise for staff accessing the Community Equipment Loan Website in order to prescribe equipment for children on their caseloads.
To have a working knowledge of the majority of disability equipment used within the service and be a point of contact for all staff to support them in all equipment issues. This includes having the competencies to check an item is complete / fit for purpose and set up / adjust delegated items of equipment.
To liaise with equipment companies and arrange training sessions to update self and staff.
To co-share duties of peripheral store manager and be responsible for the logging, safe storage, and care of equipment therein.
