Job summary
The Department of Paediatric Ear, Nose and Throat Surgery at Sheffield Children's Hospital invites applicants for a 12 month Senior Clinical Fellow position, starting from October 2023. The post is suitable for senior ENT trainees/residents at ST8 (or equivalent), or trained ENT surgeons post Certification of Completion of Training (or equivalent), who wish to further sub-specialise in tertiary Paediatric Otolaryngology.Prior experience and training in Ear, Nose and Throat surgery is essential.This is a Senior Clinical Fellowship where a broad range of paediatric ENT surgery will be undertaken. You will receive training in the management of complex paediatric ENT conditions, airway assessment, endoscopic management and reconstruction, paediatric head and neck surgery, and otology, including cholesteatoma and middle ear and bone conducting implant surgery. Main duties of the job
The aim of the post is to provide clinical and training opportunities in Paediatric ENT, including specialist airway work. The appointee will report directly to the Paediatric ENT Clinical Lead.
The successful candidate will be expected to work flexibly to respond to the demands of a busy tertiary unit. The weekly timetable as shown in the job description may be adapted to suit service needs or to suit the successful candidate. The Fellow will be free to attend ENT Lists not timetabled if cases of interest are being done.
The successful applicant will be expected to work in conjunction with the Specialist Registrar to provide on call cover for the Children's Hospital during the day.

The Department of Paediatric ENT offers a comprehensive range of tertiary referral paediatric otolaryngology and audiology services, excluding tracheal surgery requiring the input of cardiothoracic surgeons. We have particular interests in airway reconstruction and paediatric head and neck/salivary gland disease in addition to the management of paediatric cholesteatoma and hearing loss.
