An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the 0-19 Service at Sheffield Children's NHS Foundation Trust as a Infant Mental Health Practitioner

The post holder will be compassionate, accountable individual who treats all colleagues, patients and service users with respect and seeks to deliver excellence in their role. The practitioner will work in the the 0-19 Service alongside the Parent Infant Relationship Service (PAIRS). The Practitioner will deliver the 0-19 Infant Mental Health Pathway evidence-based intervention for families within Sheffield.

The practitioner will be based within the Locality Health Visiting Teams, supervised by the Specialist Emotional Health and Wellbeing Health Visitor.

The Post Holder will work with infants and their families and act as a specialist resource to support the 0-19 practitioners to promote healthy parent infant relationships. The post holder will support practitioners to identify families where there may be emerging concerns about the parent infant relationship and make appropriate onward referral into the 0-19 service Infant Mental Health Pathway.

Main duties of the job

To assess and deliver, with supervision evidence-based interventions for families experiencing mild to moderate difficulties within the parent infant relationship within the family home or clinical settings.

Support families to make informed choices about the intervention and agreed outcomes.Complete appropriate referrals to relevant services.Under supervision and support, escalate cases where the level of need becomes beyond scope.Attend multi-disciplinary meetings as appropriate.Keep coherent patient records of all activity in line with service policy and procedure.Liaise with 0-19 practitioners on completion of the intervention.Work in collaboration with families and communities to enhance and widen access.Present case load information to supervisors to ensure safe practice and high standard of service delivery.Participate in reflective supervision with the supervisor and through discussion and agreement make any required changes to the agreed plan of care.Provide training and support as appropriate to Infant Mental Health Practitioners new in post.Ensure that confidentiality is protected at all times.Ensure clear objectives are identified, discussed, and reviewed with the supervisor to ensure continued professional development and maintain accurate records.Ensure personal development plans maintain up to date specialist and evidence based knowledge regarding education and training needs.To contribute to the development of best practice within the service.
