Job summary
Reporting to the Legal, Quality & Governance deputy the successful candidate will work as part of the integrated governance structure supporting delivery of all aspects of integrated quality governance in the domains of safety, clinical effectiveness, quality assurance and risk management.
The role holder will be responsible for the day to day management and monitoring of health & safety in all Trust premises, including off site properties, using specialist knowledge around health and safety legislation, to plan, implement and evaluate a robust health and safety programme within the organisation ,which in turn will create a pro-active health and safety culture within the Trust.
Main duties of the job
- Responsible for leading the day to day operational provision of expert advice, guidance, support, coaching, and training, monitoring and reporting on all aspects of corporate health and safety
- Work closely with colleagues in the management of corporate Health & Safety risks, concerns, incidents and learning
- Assist the Trust in monitoring compliance against the requirements of relevant Health & Safety related legislation, Approved Codes of Practice, Standards and Guidance (including those specific to the NHS), and against relevant Trust policies and arrangements
- Develop, implement and maintain relevant Policies, Procedures, Protocols and Guidelines in relation to Health & Safety, and in the delivery of the overall Trust Health & Safety management system
- Provide reports on Health & Safety across the Trust
- The post holder will act as the Trusts MDSO and will be a member of the medical devices safety network and MEMG/METG.
