Main duties of the job

The post-holder will work within Sheffield Community CAMHS as part of a multi-disciplinary team delivering care coordination to young people and their families to enhance access and collaboration throughout their patient journey in CAMHS alongside the wider multi-agency network.

You will work as a valued member of the team under the supervision of Registered Nurses and working alongside other multi-disciplinary professionals to develop the specialist skills and knowledge required to work in a child and mental health setting and enable you to provide high-quality, goal-based interventions using a range of low-level psychological interventions.

You will act as lead link to young people and their families, and to effectively respond to telephone enquiries in relation to aspects of their care, by liaising with relevant colleagues. In addition, you will develop and maintain effective liaison and two-way information sharing between the multi-agency network, assessing, and integrating issues relating to safeguarding, education, and transitions, into the overall therapeutic process.

Our team work closely together, enjoying the ability to share expertise and resources to deliver a first-class, high-quality service. To do this, we are making improvements to our service to ensure there is the investment in our delivery model and staff by offering excellent supervision and training to deliver the service we want for children and young people attending mental health services.

About us

If successful, you will work in an outpatient setting at one of our Community CAMHS sites at Centenary House or the Becton Centre. You will be supported by your team and the wider Trust in joining to meet; with a number of established forums in place to provide professional support, development, and clinical supervision, including daily multi-disciplinary Huddles. In addition, there are opportunities to progress beyond Band 5 within the CAMHS structure.

Sheffield Children's is one of three independent, specialist paediatric hospitals in the country, providing dedicated healthcare for children and young people across community, mental health and acute specialist settings.

We have three overarching aims that set the direction for the Trust in our vision "to create a healthier future for children and young people."

  • Outstanding patient care
  • Brilliant place to work
  • Leader in children's health

Our commitment to rewarding colleagues is demonstrated through our brilliant reward and benefits offer including; generous annual leave entitlement and pension scheme and access to salary sacrifice schemes such as cycle to work and lease cars.

We are committed to supporting colleagues from different heritages and lifestyles while at work. This is supported through the offer we have in place for flexible working and the three equality network groups we have in place. Colleagues are encouraged to join these groups and request flexible working.
