Job summary

Ruby Lodge is one of only a few inpatient units in the country offering intensive Mental Health assessment for young people who have a Learning Disability. Main duties of the job

As a Support Worker on Ruby Lodge you will;

  • Work on a 1-1 basis with the Young People.Support with all activities of daily living to meet the Young Person's needs.
  • Work as a team to ensure a safe and supportive environment for the Young People in our care.
  • Work alongside the Nurses and wider MDT to provide a range of therapeutic interventions.
  • Attend and participate in Ward Rounds, CPA meetings, Team meetings, Supervisions and Mini teams.
  • Attend training both Mandatory and CPD.

About us

Ruby Lodge is a national, seven bedded inpatient assessment ward for children and young people whom have a primary diagnosis of a learning disability who are also experiencing an associated mental health presentation. The lodge works within a Positive Behaviour Support Model to ensure the young people in our care are supported to achieve their potential.

  • Ruby lodge's age range covers 8-17 years. The unit has 7 inpatient beds and only accepts planned admissions.
  • The lodge team comprises of an MDT including medics, nurses, therapists, teachers, admin and support services who are committed to continued development and providing high quality care for all of its young people and families.
  • Ruby Lodge is part of the Sheffield Children's NHS Foundation Trust
