The ODN supports the implementation of national strategies across 19 Neonatal Units within Yorkshire & Humber. Working collaboratively with the Lead Nurses and their teams aiming to standardise and ensure the safe delivery of care to the babies and their families. Many aspects of this work include the need for innovative education supportive mechanisms to embed practice.
The Neonatal ODN currently facilitates and supports education in all Neonatal Units across the network. Provision of education is recognised as invaluable and ever expanding. With this in mind, we have an exciting opportunity for a positive and dynamic Neonatal Nurse to join our education team. You will work closely with the existing ODN educators, family care team and AHP's with the supervision of the Lead Nurses.

Main duties of the job
The Nurse Educator will provide an expert, knowledgeable and supportive role facilitating education on behalf of the network within neonatal services ensuring the provision of high-quality evidence-based nursing care for neonates and their families. The successful applicant will undertake a shared role in facilitating and on some occasions delivering post graduate nurse education, training and operational development across neonatal services within the ODN. In partnership with the Network Manager, Lead Clinicians, Lead Nurses and clinical staff in provider services, the post holder is responsible for the planning and provision of educational events to meet the objectives of the Network. He/she will facilitate education and training programmes to ensure high standards of care in neonatal services across the network.
The post holder will be expected to maintain links with Health Education England and Higher Education Institutes for further learning to ensure both undergraduate accessibility to Neonatal Services and the ongoing training provision for postgraduates of specific education pathways and conditions securing comparable programmes across the country. This post is contracted to a secondment/fixed term.
