Job summary
Airedale NHS Foundation Trust has made significant recent financial investment in developing our Urgent Care Department with state of the art facilities in our Emergency Department and Acute Assessment Unit. The Practice Development Lead for Urgent Care post is a pivotal role in the development of staff, nursing skill and patient care and this opportunity would appeal to a registered nurse with significant experience in patient care, staff development, training and education looking to make a substantial impact on clinical care.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will take lead responsibility for the planning and delivery of education and training of staff across the Urgent Care Department which comprises the Emergency Department, Acute Assessment Unit and the Ambulatory Care Unit. Working in partnership with the Matron for each department within Urgent Care the post holder will lead on nursing development with particular focus on clinical skills acquisition and developing the Urgent Care workforce to have the skills to deliver high quality nursing care according to the strategic goals of service delivery and the needs of the patient group.
This will entail detailed analysis of the learning needs of the workforce and planning training and education to meet those needs, developing training plans for each member of staff and collecting data and maintaining records of training and competency. The post holder will work in partnership with the wider inter-professional team and collaborate with other education providers and healthcare organizations to deliver evidence-based, patient-centered training and education for the workforce with the express aim to maintain and improve the quality of nursing care delivered to patients. The post holder will develop a professional learning culture and environment for the workforce and promote excellence and patient safety, making the Urgent Care department an outstanding place to receive care for patients and for staff to work in.

- Registered Nurse with current NMC PIN
- Bachelor's Degree in a nursing related subject
- Mentorship qualification or equivalent, e.g. ENB 997/ 998, SLIP.
- Recent Leadership development e.g. Edward Jenner Programme / FEN Leader programme / Braver Programme
Desirable
- Master's Degree
- Teaching qualification (PCGE).
- Registered Teacher on the NMC Register
