Job summary
This post is initially a fixed term for 12 months with a view to becoming permanent if mutually agreed after annual review.
These posts are designed to allow expansion of our middle grade tier to meet the increasing demand on our Stroke Ward, like many others, is facing. We hope the posts will attract Medicine doctors with the following backgrounds:
- Established speciality doctors looking to work in a high-performing, friendly and cohesive team
- General Medicine trainees who feel a move to being a non-trainee would provide a better work-life balance with no more moving hospitals and the possibility to put down roots
Post-holders will be eligible for up to 10 days of study leave per year plus study budget. Non-clinical time is included in the weekly rota.
As a member of our middle grade tier, each post holder will be expected to work an average of 10 PAs per week Monday - Friday (0900 - 1700) but flexible working patterns will be considered.
Stroke medical cover at AGH is provided by two stroke consultants and a stroke specialty doctor, supported by two specialist stroke nurses and a TIA nurse. Thrombolysis is carried out in Bradford in the emergency department (ED) and Thrombectomy is performed at Leeds General Infirmary (LGI)
Main duties of the job
