Job summary

To assist the Outpatient Appointment Administrators with the running of the Booking Offices, to liaise with appropriate staff to ensure that all appointment bookings are managed appropriately and utilized in accordance with the Trusts Management Guidelines and Policies.

To ensure patient case notes are available for the patient's appointment, as per Trust guidelines.

Main duties of the job

To provide administrative support relating to the appointment bookings for the Outpatient Appointment Offices.

  • Adhering to Trust and departmental standards.
  • Inputting computer transactions to ensure correct details are recorded.
  • Update the patient system1 record.
  • Assisting patients with general enquires
  • Being aware of the National Cancer Targets (2 week Wait)
  • Being aware of the National Waiting Time Targets

To ensure all necessary medical records where appropriate are obtained both internally and from other providers and prepared for the Outpatient Clinics in accordance with the booking requirements in a timely manner.

Ensure the electronic patient case notes tracking system is always updated.

To ensure all letters to patients/GPs are dispatched correctly and promptly.
