Job summary
This post is for a Consultant Radiologist with interest in GU Radiology and NVIR to complement the existing team of Radiologists.
This post is a permanent position that will increase the current established number of Consultant Radiologists to 12 (this considers a newly recruited Radiologist due to start in September 2024 and one member of the team currently on sabbatical). In terms of the subspecialty teams, this post will increase the GU Radiology team to 2 Consultants and NVIR to 3 (of which 1 is newly appointed and due to start in September 2024).
Main duties of the job
The candidate would be expected to be proficient in diagnostic GU Radiology, including reporting of Plain Film, US, CT and MRI, as well as NVIR including image guided biopsies and drainages. Other subspecialty reporting skills, including GI, would be an advantage.
The candidate would be expected to contribute to the Urology MDT meetings.
Any other duties necessary for the successful performance of the role, commensurate with the grade.
Airedale NHS Foundation Trust have a joint network NVIR on call arrangement with Bradford Teaching Hospitals and Calderdale and Huddersfield NHS Foundation Trust .
At the time of appointment there will be 8 radiologists on the NVIR rota providing a 1:10 service with locum gaps. Interventions most commonly performed are nephrostomy, abdominal and chest drainages and chest drain for pneumothorax, supported by radiographic and nursing staff. There is a separate Vascular IR rota.
This will be based at Bradford Royal Infirmary requiring travel to/from this site.
