Job summary

Integrated Pathology Solutions LLP is an innovative joint-venture pathology service between Airedale NHS Foundation Trust, Bradford Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust and Harrogate and District NHS Foundation Trust. This partnership delivers a high quality pathology service through collaboration between three Trusts for the benefit of patient and service users.

The Department of Histopathology is looking to appoint Medical Laboratory Assistants at a Band 2 level.

The Department of Histopathology is ISO15189:2012 accredited and is also a recognised HCPC / IBMS training laboratory

Main duties of the job

The selected candidates will be expected to perform routine daily tasks which include receipt of pathological specimens, assisting with the pathological dissection of tissue, input of data, block and slide filing. In addition to the retrieval and filing of blocks and slides from St Lukes Hospital and the daily maintenance of equipment and machinery used.

The successful candidates will rotate throughout the laboratory inclusive of both Airedale NHS Foundation Trust and Bradford Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust and participate in activities in each area
