Advanced Clinical Practitioner Clinical Educator - Band 8a (Secondment)

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Advanced Clinical Practitioner to work as a Clinical Educator for the ACP team trust wide.

The post holder will be focused on clinical education activities to support trainee Advanced Clinical Practitioners (tACPs) to develop their skills in line with both the Trusts strategy for Advanced Clinical Practice and that of the national Multi-professional framework for Advanced Clinical Practice (HEE, 2017). The post holder will work across all divisions and support tACPs and qualified ACPs from a nursing and midwifery, and allied health care (AHP) professional backgrounds as appropriate.

Main duties of the job

The principle role of the post holder will be to develop, co-ordinate, oversee and deliver advanced clinical education for those undertaking the MSc in advanced clinical practice. They will also be responsible for working alongside other qualified ACPs to develop the educational expertise, by means of mentoring and teaching, and supporting a programme of development. Every educational opportunity will be explored to accommodate an inter-professional approach to learning. The post holder will sit on the Trust's Advanced Clinical Practice operational group to support the education strategies for this workforce going forward.

The post holder will be a registered nurse / AHP and hold an MSc in Advanced Clinical Practice or equivalent at MSc level. They will be an independent non-medical prescriber registered with the NMC/HCPC. The post holder will practise at an advanced level demonstrating in depth knowledge and competence, encompassing advanced assessment, critical thinking and clinical management skills that are evidence based and deliver high quality patient centred care. They will be expected to continue clinical practice to maintain credibility and expertise within their role.
