Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Airedale Radiology department as a DXA Radiographer. The successful applicant will need to be able to work as an independent scanning and reporting DXA Radiographer.

Main duties of the job

Work within a small team of DXA Radiographers to ensure smooth day to day running of the DXA department, this will encompass organisation of the workload, justifying the examinations and ensuring accurate data entry on CRIS.

Essential

  • DCRR / BSc in Radiography
  • The certification in bone densitometry foundation online course
  • Certificate of competence in Bone Densitometry
  • HCPC registration

  • Reporting qualification

Experience

  • Experience and knowledge of QA
  • Knowledge of current data protection legislation
  • A broad range of experience in preparing, collating, and presenting audit results to the team to improve quality
  • Ability to prioritise own workload as well as that of others

  • Team leader, able to build and maintain an efficient and effective team
  • Knowledge and understanding of service development

Knowledge

  • Understand the use of DXA in identifying osteoporosis
  • Ensure reliable scan data are recorded to inform a diagnosis and decisions around treatment
  • Understand the importance/findings of other diagnostic tests /symptoms that may influence the DXA results/findings
  • Knowledge in evaluation of relevant advanced knowledge of QA and audit programmes
