Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Apprentice Advanced Clinical Practitioner. The apprentice advanced clinical practitioner role is a 3 year training programme which the post holder will study at post-graduate level to gain a master's degree in Advanced Clinical Practice at an approved Higher Education Institute (HEI). In order to achieve qualification as an ACP, you must successfully achieve the completion of an end-point assessment.
Alongside academic studies, the apprentice ACP is required to successfully complete advanced practice clinical core competencies. These competencies may be provided by the trust or national competencies depending on the area in which you work.
Part of the apprentice standard is a minimum of 30 hours per week is required for clinical contract. Directed study time of 7.5 hours per week will be allocated. This study time is also to be used to maintain compliance with mandatory training.
Main duties of the job
Interested applicants must have recent experience at a senior level working within the acute / emergency setting or speciality. Candidates must be registered with a profession that is eligible to complete independent Non-Medical Prescribing training as this is an essential part of the ACP role. We require enthusiastic, forward thinking, well organised and motivated individuals with a positive attitude to join our multi-professional teams.
You will need to apply and gain a place on an apprentice advanced practice master's (MSc) course with one of our chose education provider. You will be asked to apply for a place following successful interview. Only on successful completion of the training programme and clinical competency will a permanent ACP position at Airedale be offered.
The apprentice ACP post are part subsided by HEE (Health Education England) and offers of employment is subject to:
- Funding secured from HEE
- A place gained on an HEI approved apprentice advanced practice course
- NHS pre-employment checks
- Proof of achieving Maths and English at Level 2
