Job summary
The post holder will be the senior midwifery and managerial lead for Delivery Suite and the Maternity Assessment Centre.
The post holder will be accountable for ensuring the highest standard of clinical care is provided on Delivery Suite and Maternity Assessment Centre. They will be easily identifiable to service users, providing strong, visible leadership and have the appropriate level of authority to provide support, advice and assistance required by service users and their families. They will manage and take responsibility for clinical governance and team working that delivers safe and effective clinical care.
Main duties of the job
The role involves 24-hour responsibility for the Delivery Suite and Maternity Assessment Centre and therefore requires advanced communication skills and ensuring processes are in place to support safe and effective care.
The post holder must take responsibility for maintaining their clinical skills.
The post holder will play a key role in ensuring the principles of clinical governance and risk management are implemented.
