Job summary
The Antenatal Clinic Team Leader will coordinate and manage safe and efficient flow throughthe antenatal clinic and obstetric ultrasound services. This will include the supervision of staff,teaching of students, promoting and monitoring of safe and effective clinical practice.
You will coordinate and manage a high standard of care within the antenatal clinic providingexpert knowledge of referral for high risk obstetric care as well as supporting the continuity ofcare for low risk out of area women. Identify the needs of the local population and developtargeted support as required to improve access to services.
A key part of the role is clinic allocation, deployment and support of staff to maintain the skills, knowledge and attitude that drive quality improvement. They will also be involved in day-to-day clinical activity.
Provide clinical leadership with a focus on the development and promotion of HealthyLifestyles and Public Health for women and families during pregnancy and the postnatalperiod in line with local and national benchmarks.
Lead the development of the service in the setting, implementing, and monitoring of healthylifestyles for women and families that reflects the standards pertinent to public health and theprevention of long-term morbidity and mortality.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will work with midwifery colleagues, primary care teams and other keystakeholders and agencies to develop midwifery services in line with Harrogate and DistrictNHS Foundation Trust and national strategies.
The women and their families' experience of our services will be dependent on high quality, effective and customer focused care and the post holder will ensure that the care provided is in keeping with the Trust vision, values and behaviours.
