Job summary
We require a motivated and dedicated nurse to work within the malignant Haematology Specialist Nursing team at Harrogate District hospital. This is an exciting opportunity to join a team who are focused on delivering the best possible personalised care to patients with a range of malignant Haematological conditions.
We have a passionate multidisciplinary team who work closely with the tertiary centre. The Nursing service undertake nurse led clinics and are committed to advancing their clinical skills and decision making capabilities and opportunities for further education and training will be offered and encouraged.
Our service supports patients diagnosed with or suspected of having a haematological cancer. We provide comprehensive nursing support and expert advice to patients, families and carers throughout their pathway from diagnosis, treatment, rehabilitation and end of life care in collaboration with specialist teams and services including community / specialist palliative care services as required.

Main duties of the job
To provide specialist advice, information and support to patients and their families diagnosed with or suspected of having a haematological cancer.
The successful candidate will provide a personalised care approach to the nursing support and address the concerns of the patients and their families throughout their pathway from diagnosis, treatment, rehabilitation and end of life care in collaboration with other specialist teams and services including community / specialist palliative care services as required.
The post involves managing a caseload of patients independently with advice and guidance from the team leader. Inpatient support and nurse led clinics will form part of the role with the appropriate education and training if necessary.
