Bank GP OOH Support Technician

Job summary

Harrogate GP Out of Hours provide an urgent primary care service when GP surgeries are closed, open weekday evenings from 18.00-08.00 and weekends and bank holidays 24 hours.

The Support Technician role supports the service undertaking admin, booking in patients, driving GPs, maintaining and checking equipment and stock in line with Trust policy.Shift pattern required

1945-0815 (Sat- Sun)*We currently have a strong core team covering evenings and weekends; however, we do not have sufficient overnight cover. The preferred candidate will have experience of overnight work and be willing to work overnight shifts.

Main duties of the job

  • To use SystmOne to book patients in, ensuring data entry to accurate.
  • To use the computer systems to respond to general enquiries from patients and Health Care Professionals
  • To ensure that all property belonging to the Trust is looked after safely and securely.
  • To assist clinical staff in their duties as necessary, including setting up or use of medical equipment (setting up and administering oxygen, setting up nebuliser, using defibrillator) and handling prescription medications as requested.
  • To safely drive and operate the GP OOHs vehicle conveying clinical staff as required.
  • To clean up bodily fluids, as required, using appropriate spillage kit e.g. when a patient has vomited.
  • To chaperone for clinician's as required.
