Job summary
Overview:
After a restructure of the Echo department at Harrogate District hospital we are looking for Highly Specialised Echocardiographer or a trainee currently working towards Level 2 BSE accreditation. We are a District general hospital with a busy Cardiology service providing a wide range of investigations including physiologist led Stress echo, valve clinic and contrast.
As a positive and supportive management team we are open to any working patterns that support the role including compressed hours, job sharing, full or part time working. There is no on call commitment however the successful candidate will be expected to rotate to the CDC hub at Ripon.
Full training and support will be given in advanced techniques including strain and 4D.
The RRT uplift is only available on completion of BSE accreditation and band 7 appointment.

Main duties of the job
- Independently perform ultrasound scans on a range of outpatients and inpatients, including adult congenital heart disease patients (ACHD), recording and interpreting images obtaine
- You wiill work to British Society of Echocardiography standards, and adhere to all protocols and guidelines of the societ
- Vetting and triage of report
- Monitor wait times and alert service managers to issues in a timely manne
- Partaking in the team quality control of reports and images
- Formulate detailed Echo reports to be personally verified and issued to consultants
- Undertake clinical supervision and training of junior and trainee physiology staff and other professional group
- Participate in Continuing Professional Development and other developmental activities, including research and clinical trial
- Work with Team Leaders and the Service Manager in further developing the clinical physiology service
- Maintain professional registration at all times
- Be responsible for the care and maintenance of the ultrasound equipment.
