Job summary

We are seeking a Digital Benefits Manager to join our Digital Delivery Team. This pivotal role involves working closely with colleagues to facilitate digital transformation throughout the organization by planning and achieving digital benefits.

Main duties of the job

Responsible for the successful management and realisation of benefits for digitally enabled transformational programmes and projects to specification and on time.

Work with project leads and teams across the organisations to design and structure a benefits realisation model for the organisation, including structured evaluation in order to baseline practice and evidence the value added.

Manage and prioritise the management of benefits for multiple projects.

Produce and review documents for presentation to appropriate Boards (e.g. Project Boards, EPR Board)

Job description

Job responsibilities

Assess benefits planning and realisation across the portfolio to identify gaps, overlaps and conflicts and eliminate double counting in the benefits plan of individual programmes and projects.

- Design, develop and maintain a Benefits Plan for the portfolio.

- Assess the impact of portfolio change requests and escalated programme change requests on overall benefits realisation.

- Assist the Sponsors / SROs in leading benefits reviews.

- Provide a source of expertise in benefits mapping and realisation to all programmes and projects within the portfolio.

- Develop best practice approaches for benefits realisation and standardising this across the organisation, aligning with existing organisation methodologies (such as Impact) where required

- Support the Trusts Digital programme to ensure each plan has a robust model for benefits realisation.

- Work across project teams and manage stakeholder concerns and expectations.

- Support the Head of Digital Delivery in developing the future vision for benefits realisation and both develop and implement the agreed plan across the organisation.

- Identify data gaps and needs across the system, influencing system-wide data capture strategy (and implementation prioritisation) and working with local organisations to develop interim solutions to capture data where applicable.

- Lead on best practice benefits realisation and also promote an evidence led decision approach across the organisation.

- Work with highly complex data, facts and situations requiring analysis, interpretations and comparisons on a range of options and make clear and robust recommendations on the most impactful course of action.

- Provide expert guidance, advice and standards development for change management and benefits realisation activities and build upon existing best practice approaches for benefit realisation.

- Where required, develop current and future state process maps that help to identify benefits

- Plan, manage and review the project monitoring milestones and outcomes, and ensure the required reports, in the defined format, are submitted within the required timescale.

- Monitor the change management aspects of projects, ensuring delivery of change and that benefits realisation processes are working effectively.

- Support the various board and groups, and the Trust Executive in ensuring change management and benefits realisation become embedded within each of projects and programmes.

- Advise on and support development of strategic options appraisal and business cases, ensuring best practice regarding benefits realisation and change management.

- Manage benefits risk, assurance and governance reporting for appropriate Boards.

- Implement and follow through audit report recommendations where these relate to the benefits realisation.

- Represent the Trust at local and national levels for issues relating to benefits realisation.

- Provide and receive a regular flow of complex programme information and materials to the Trust, for use in publications.

- Prepare and deliver presentations and briefings on assigned projects to staff at all levels both within the Trust's own organisation and at external meetings, seminars, conferences and other events.
