Job summary

This is a rare and much sought after opportunity to contribute to the leadership of services within the Long Term and Unscheduled Care Directorate at Harrogate and District NHS Foundation Trust (HDFT). We are seeking an enthusiastic Matron, who will be integral in the safe, effective and efficient running of cancer services. The post holder will work closely with colleagues as part of a triumvirate (clinical, nursing and managerial) team, overseen by a general manager. Together the triumvirate will be responsible and accountable for the quality, performance and financial delivery for all elements of their given portfolio.

The Matron will be a highly visible, accessible and authoritative presence in clinical areas to which patients, their families and others can turn for leadership, assistance, advice and support. They will have prior knowledge and experience of working in cancer services, specifically within oncology or haematology. The successful candidate will be central in ensuring that Systemic Anti-Cancer Therapy (SACT) delivery at Harrogate and all other cancer supportive services continue to deliver excellent care.
