Job summary

Lascelles ward is a 12 bed mixed sex ward specialising in providing inpatient rehabilitation for adults living with a variety of neurological conditions such as head injuries, multiple sclerosis, Parkinson's, motor neurone disease, Guillain-Barre syndrome and patients who have suffered strokes. You shall work closely with the therapy staff to ensure all patients are working towards their rehabilitation goals. Lascelles is a friendly ward which aims to provide and maintain the highest possible standard of nursing care to enhance the patient experience and is part of a trust which has an excellent workforce development programme and a full induction shall be given to support the successful candidate

Main duties of the job

We know that to be the best, we need to recruit, develop and support the best nurses to continue to provide an outstanding service. We are looking to recruit a Registered Nurse who is passionate about rehabilitation, patient safety and the delivery of exceptional quality care.

You should have an interest in general medicine and a willingness to develop the skills required to become a champion in this field and share those knowledge and skills with your nursing team.

Job responsibilities

Registered Nurse job summery

1) To work as a member of the multi-disciplinary team and to provide nursing care for patients. This requires detailed knowledge of equipment and specialised information on procedures undertaken in the clinicalenvironment.

2) In consultation with senior staff, the post holder will help plan, co-ordinate, implement, and evaluate care for patients.

3) Maintain standards in accordance with ward /Trust policies and procedures and NMC code of conduct

4) Maintain a safe working environment, being aware of the necessity to comply with Health & Safety regulations and the Environmental Health Act, and to attend mandatory training courses.

5) Maintain safe custody of all drugs and medicines

6) To work unsupervised at times, using ward Protocols and Policies.
