Main duties of the job
You will be inputting data into the central rostering systems, so you must be able to maintain accuracy and have an eye for detail. You will be answering the phone and email queries and questions from managers and users. You will be expected to provide excellent customer service and help the users get the best from the systems we have in place.
You will already be able to use Excel, Word and other MS packages and be willing to learn about our e-Rostering and ESR systems. Full training is provided in our E-Rostering system.

Key Responsibilities
- Provide administrative support and assistance to the E-Rostering Manager and E-Rostering Facilitators to support with the e-rostering system, across the Trust, including inputting starters, leavers and changes as required and addressing helpdesk queries.
- To assist in the generation of the time & attendance and sickness & absence payroll files from E-Rostering System each month. Ensuring exceptions are analysed, investigated and actioned; files are created and transferred to the ESR hub so that appropriate payments can be made. Escalating where necessary to the E-Rostering Manager.
- Configuration of the e-rostering system based on the information provided by the E-Rostering Manager.
- Provide helpdesk advice and support to roster managers on the phone, via email and in person on the creation, verification and allocation of rosters plus other ad hoc queries. Communicating technical concepts to a non-technical audience.
- To promote and maximise effective use of the E-Rostering System.
- Encourage and instil confidence in new roster managers to cooperate and use the system effectively.
- To liaise with the suppliers helpdesk, when necessary, to resolve system problems.
- Build effective relationships with ward, department and line managers to address queries and questions regarding using or utilising the system effectively.
- Show due diligence in the adherence to and to the perpetuation of the Trusts policies and procedures.
- Assist in the review of standards and procedures for the development and use of the e-rostering system.
- Assist with the data cleansing of the ESR system.
- Input data into ESR for example appraisal data, flu vaccination information, and Equality and diversity data.
- Provide analysis for ESR or other data sets as required and directed.

- Ensure confidentiality at all times.
- Provides effective communication, maintaining excellent inter-personal skills when dealing with members of staff at all levels within the Trust. Liaises with other departments as required.
- Take responsibility for continuous professional development.
