Job summary
Due to our success of winning new and exciting contracts, an opportunity has arisen within our Finance Team at Harrogate and District NHS FT for an experienced Management Accountant. This role will be supporting a variety of services. The role will see the successful candidate combining analytical and interpersonal skills to support a range of stakeholders across the Trust. Some of the key tasks will involve detailed variance analysis, month end income and expenditure reconciliation, budget setting & forecast support and participation in budget holder meetings.
Main duties of the job
Budget statement reconciliation and analysis
Producing budget statements from the ledger
Investigating variances and making any necessary adjustments
Implementing adjustments to income and expenditure for forecast and budget setting
Validation of new spend and involvement in business cases
Active engagement with budget holders and other Trust colleagues

This post is part of the Financial Planning and Performance Management team within the Trust.
The post holder will be part of a team providing financial management advice and support for the Trust. This post will have responsibility for the provision of financial advice to managers within the Clinical and/or Corporate Directorate structure including our subsidiary company Harrogate Integrated Facilities (HIF).
The post holder will ensure that financial information is processed in accordance to specific deadlines and complies with internal procedures and accounting principles. The holder will work closely with budget holders to investigate complex enquires and will advise on financial issues.
The post holder will adopt a modern, proactive and dynamic approach to ensure the efficient and effective use of financial resources. The post holder will provide Clinical and Corporate/HIF Directorates with appropriate financial performance management and business planning information relating to their activities and budgets that are integral to the achievement of the objectives and targets set by the Trust.
