Job summary
We are looking for enthusiastic and dynamic Assistant Service Manager to join our Ophthalmology Multidisciplinary Team. The post requires vision, innovation and the ability to work across professional boundaries, underpinned by a real desire to provide the highest standards of patient care. We are a busy department with a high throughput of patients.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will be accountable for ensuring the highest standard of clinical care is provided within this outpatient service working closely with the Service Manager and Matron for outpatients. They will be easily identifiable to patients and users, provide strong, visible leadership and have the appropriate level of authority to provide support, advice and assistance required by patients, their families and carers. Essential emphasis of the role is on the areas of patient safety, patient experience, user engagement and clinical outcomes.If you think you can take on this challenge and are ready for an opportunity in operational management, we look forward to hearing from you.

The function of the Ophthalmology Department is to see, assess and treat a variety of ophthalmic conditions in line with best practice and national standards, treating patients in timely manner taking into consideration patients' requirements and national targets.
