Job summary
The Assistant Planning and Business Development Manager will be employed within the Planning Team and will be responsible to the Business Development, Charity & Volunteer Manager to support the delivery of the business planning and business development agenda for the organisation.
The post holder will have effective networking skills, analytical skills, facilitation skills, project management and change management skills and be IT literate.
Please note, there is 1 permanent post and 1 fixed term/secondment post available for 12 months.
Main duties of the job
The postholder will work with the Business Development, Charity & Volunteer Manager and Planning team to support business development opportunities and the preparation of bids in response to any tendering opportunities that the Trust takes forward. They will act as a bid-coordinator and support when taking forward bids and any business development opportunities.

Job responsibilities
The principle responsibilities of the post are to: -
- Assist the Business Development, Charity & Volunteer Manager to manage business development opportunities and the preparation of bids in response to any tendering opportunities that the Trust takes forward.
- Act as bid coordinator and support taking forward bids working closely with internal colleagues and the Trusts bid partner when preparing agreed bids.
- Work with the Business Development, Charity & Volunteer Manager to take forward business opportunities as they are developed as part of the Business Development strategy.
- Support the Trusts business development projects and identify funding opportunities to secure new service developments.
- Act as the first point of contact for Commissioners answering queries, giving advice and providing information as appropriate.
- Support Trust colleagues in the mobilisation and/or decommissioning of services following the outcome of tender or new business development opportunities.
- Take a lead role in preparation of Business Cases and Tenders where required by the Planning department.
- Maintain an effective electronic and paper based filing system for storing and retrieving information.
- Co-ordinate meetings within the department, to include preparing agendas, collating documentation and taking and transcribing minutes.
- Participate in, take and prepare minutes at regular meetings, coordinating follow-up actions and assisting in the preparation of agendas.
- Deal with telephone queries, taking action and responsibility where appropriate and relaying information to the relevant manager in a prompt and concise manner.
