Job summary
The post holder will provide support to all HDFT employees using medical devices in their role. They will co-ordinate and record all training in the use of medical devices, ensuring the principles of clinical governance are upheld. The will be responsible for all training in the use of infusion devices across HDH.
In addition the post holder is responsible for the day to day management of the Medical Equipment Library (MEL). This includes management of staff, appraisal and discipline. They will oversee the physical resources in the department and monitor delivery, collection and decontamination of equipment. This will involve liaising with Procurement, Medical Engineering and Finance.
Main duties of the job
Medical Devices
To provide direct training and support to staff in the clinical area and classroom, liaising with MDSO. Work with clinical staff to identify training needs locally, supporting staff in the delivery of this training and auditing its effectiveness.
Medical Equipment Library
To provide a stock of electro-medical equipment for the use of staff across HDH. Cleaning, delivering and collecting equipment and recording data on its use.
