Our band 6 community and public health/social care research nurse/practitioner will play a key role as a member of R&I team in developing road-map to support and promote the expansion of the range of roles in the community/public health and social care setting.
To fulfil this role you should be a registered nurse or allied health care professional. You should have a good understanding of governance, legislation, research framework and be an enthusiastic advocate for the field of clinical research.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will play a key role as a member of the R&I Team in developing a roadmap to support and promote the widening of the range of community, public health and social care research studies. To build an awareness of the key personnel who can influence research in community public health and social care environments within the region of the trust and its geographic partners (Harrogate District Hospital Foundation Trust, Yorkshire Health Network, Harrogate and Rural CCG) and understand the key challenges and barriers to research for these organisations.
The post holder will help build relationships with, and secure involvement in community, public health, and social care research, through a wider group of health and social care professionals. The post holder will help to increase the amount of multi-organisational research in these services and improve the effectiveness of patient recruitment to Y&H CRN portfolio studies.
The role, working within the HDFT Strategic Public Health and Social Care Bid Project to become a proactive and supportive research hub, will help facilitate a more extensive and capable infrastructure to support a wider research portfolio by offering support and training of health and social care professionals so they can engage safely in research and ensure they are research-ready.
About us
Harrogate and District NHS Foundation Trust (HDFT) provides a wide range of services to the population of Harrogate and its surrounding district. The resident population served is approximately 200,000 and the hospital has approximately 300 beds.
HDFT as a partner organisation in the Yorkshire and Humber Clinical Research Network (YH CRN) is committed to supporting research activity as part of the service it provides. In addition, as an NHS organisation, it aims to ensure that as many patients and staff as possible have the opportunity to take part in research. To deliver research activity HDFT has an established Research and Innovation department which sits in the Corporate Services directorate. The Research department receives funding from the National Institute of Health Research (NIHR) via the regional clinical research network host for the delivery of research activity.
The Research department is led by the Associate Medical Director (AMD) for Research and Innovation.
and is managed by the R&I Manager with the support of the Research Quality & Safety Manager. Delivery of research is supported by the departments of Finance, Pharmacy, Pathology and Radiology.
