Job summary

An exciting opportunity to gain valuable experience and knowledge in interventional radiology and cardiology has become available. The post will be based in Vascular Imaging Unit, York Hospital with an expectation to rotate through all departments including York Main Xray, Scarborough Xray department and Pre-Assessment when trained. There will also be a requirement to undertake on call for interventional radiology.

This is an exciting time to join the team as we have had a new unit built at York Hospital and expect to move into this in March. We will be able to significantly increase the capacity of procedures we undertake.

Main duties of the job

  • Managing care of patients pre, peri and post interventional radiology and cardiology procedures.
  • Acting as scrub nurse and runner in procedure rooms, potentially wearing lead aprons for long periods.
  • Rotating through recovery, radiology and cardiology procedure rooms, main Xray, pre-assessment and Scarborough when required
  • Participate in an on call rota

Interviews for this position will be held in person ONLY at one of our Trust sites. Remote interviews will not be available.
