We are seeking dynamic individuals who are passionate about patient care to join our Acute Trauma and Orthopaedic Ward. On Holly Ward, we provide pre and post operative care for patients requiring orthopaedic surgery. Patients are often frail/elderly and require assistance with all aspects of personal care and rehabilitation.
As a Healthcare Support Worker, you will be expected to work a combination of shifts including nights, weekends and Bank Holidays:
- Early - 07:15-15:15
- Late - 12:15 - 20:15
- Long Day - 07:15 - 20:15
- Night - 20:00 - 07:30
Please be aware that you must be able to attend a full time induction programme for the first 4 weeks in your new role.
Interviews for this position will be held in person ONLY. Remote interviews will not be available.
Main duties of the job
The job description outlines the primary role and responsibilities of a Senior Health Care Support Worker. There is an expectation for post holders to be flexible in order to provide cover to other clinical areas where there is an increase in service demand.
Conduct and behaviour
- Demonstrate a courteous, sympathetic, compassionate and helpful approach to patients, relatives and visitors at all times.
- Act as an ambassador promoting the corporate image of York and Scarborough Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, to all individuals, groups and external organisations, to sustain public confidence and trust.
