Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Scarborough Urgent Treatment Centre team based at Scarborough Hospital, within York and Scarborough Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. The role is open to a suitably qualified ENP at Band 7.
The Band 7 candidate must have a recognised qualification, training and experience as an Emergency Nurse Practitioner or similar if AHP.
Trainee ENPs must already be undertaking or completing a recognised Minor Injuries Course Injuries (that includes X Ray interpretation), and be prepared to undertake further training in post.
Applicants are welcome to apply from those professional groups eligible to undertake non-medical prescribing under current statutory regulations.
The successful candidate should possess a strong desire to develop themselves to deliver outstanding care, helping to develop the advanced practice strategy within the Trust.
Main duties of the job
The post holder is required to take a complete history and perform clinical examination to diagnose and implement treatment for patients presenting with varied conditions.
You are also required to be able to evaluate the effectiveness of the treatment and discharge patients or refer to a specialist as necessary. As an autonomous practitioner you will work within their scope of practice and according to broad local policies and procedures.
You must be proactive in promoting health and well-being to patients and give health advice and education, and act as a mentor and to other staff members and nursing students.
You will be expected to further your own education with the support of the trust, keep up to date with skills and competencies, monitor and update local policies and procedures and to develop and participate in clinical research.
