Job summary
We are currently recruiting for experienced registered Theatre Practitioners/Theatre Nurses and ODPs within our Theatre team. We would love to tell you about our team and our culture. Our area is committed to providing a high standard of patient care from 11 specialist theatres, 6 day unit theatres as well as initiating acute and chronic pain services. Our surgical specialties include: Maxillofacial, ENT, Gynaecology, Urology, Vascular, Upper GI, Colorectal, Breast and plastics, Acutes including Trauma.
You do not need any additional qualifications other than an active NMC/HCPC pin to be eligible for this post, but hold passion, enthusiasm and commitment to provide patient centered care. A positive attitude to the continual improvement of patient care through research evidence. A willingness to supervise and teach junior staff and colleagues and share learning through clinical supervision. The ability to work as an integral member of the team.
Main duties of the job
- Demonstrate and develop clinical assessment skills, and the ability to prioritise the care for patients undergoing a Surgical / Anaesthetic procedure.
- Actively supports patients and their families, communicating clinical information using a variety of methods, to ensure effective understanding.
- Contribute to the continuing development of patient care within the operating theatres, e.g. through sharing knowledge and expertise as required.
- Prepare and organise clinical area to receive patients for elective and emergency.
- To safely identify, prepare, check and assemble equipment required for the relevant operating list.
- Responsible for adhering to the NMC / HCPC professional Code of Conduct.
