Specialist Physiotherapist

Job summary

Are you currently a Band 5 looking to progress, or a Band 6 looking to develop specialist clinical skills and expertise around Acute Respiratory and General Medicine?

We are looking for a full time Band 6 Physiotherapist to join our General Medical Therapy Multi-disciplinary team at York Hospital.

You will have access to a support network including Physiotherapy Clinical Lead, Advanced Clinical Specialist Physiotherapists, Management Team, and Professional Leadership Team.

As a valued and key member of the MDT we are looking for someone who has a positive, dynamic approach and will undertake leadership roles. The ability to communicate effectively, be proactive, organised, adaptable and have a collaborative approach are key skills we are looking for.

Main duties of the job

As part of our multi professional team you will have a client-centred approaches to patient care. You will be involved in all aspects of the assessment, treatment and discharge process, and work alongside both health and social care colleagues to ensure that patients remain as independent as possible and achieve the best possible health and social outcomes.You will undertake a comprehensive assessment of patients, including those with diverse or complex/ multi-pathology presentations. Use advanced clinical reasoning skills and assessment techniques and provide and deliver an effective treatment plan and to evaluate any intervention.You will deliver specialist, evidence-based treatment options using assessment, clinical reasoning skills and knowledge of treatment to address relevant functional physical and skill deficit to promote and enable our patients in their recovery.

Your duties will include, but not be limited to:

  • Actively contributing tothe delivery of therapy services across the medical caseload, alongside the senior leadership team.
  • Providing specialist advice to therapy staff and other members of the multidisciplinary team and wider team.
  • Participating in and provide clinical and management supervision.
  • Contributing to multi-disciplinary team working.
  • Contributing to and lead on service improvement and quality initiatives.
  • You will be able to respond flexibly and creatively to challenges.
