Administrative Co-ordinator - Rapid Access Chest Pain

Job summary

An exciting, unique opportunity has arisen as an Administrative Co-ordinator for the Rapid Access Chest Pain service at York Hospital. The post holder will provide direct support to the Rapid Access Chest Pain Service ran by two Specialist nurses. This role will be responsible for co-ordinating the workload of the service and completing various administrative duties for the smooth and efficient running of the service.

The post holder will carry out these duties in such a way to make a direct and positive contribution to the organisation of the work. It is essential that the post holder should exercise initiative commensurate with the role and vital that confidentiality is maintained at all times.

Main duties of the job

  • To provide direct administrative support for the Specialist Rapid Access Chest Pain Nurses and carry out any administrative/clerical tasks required by the Rapid Access Chest Pain Service (RACP)
  • Co-ordinate RACP effectively alongside the multi-disciplinary team to ensure a smooth running service.
  • Use excel and other Microsoft office applications to follow patient pathways and monitor patients through the 2 week wait RACP pathway
  • Monitor specialist nurse clinics, annual leave and complete clinic utilisation tasks. Working closely with the Cardiology secretarial team and Cardiologists to guarantee the smooth running
  • Support in Speciality audits, cancelling clinics when appropriate, supporting with Cardiology MDTs when needed and completing general day-to-day admin tasks in support of the service.

  • Educated to NVQ Level 4/5, BTEC Level Higher National Diploma & Certificate (HND/C) or equivalent level
  • Word Processing and Computer literacy skills to RSA3/NVQ3 Level
  • Previous Administrative experience (2 years minimum), including a minimum of 6 months Staff
  • Previous experience of dealing with sensitive and/or complex situations

Desirable

  • Previous NHS experience in an administrative capacity
  • Experience of dealing with confidential information
