We are delighted to advertise an opportunity for the role of Clinical Governance Coordinator within the Cancer, Specialist and Clinical Support Services Care Group (CSCS).

The post holder will support and assist the Clinical Governance Facilitator in providing the Care Group with support to develop, monitor and maintain processes to ensure assurance can be provided for all areas of clinical governance, including clinical effectiveness, quality improvement, patient safety and risk management.

This post would ideally suit a dynamic professional who has knowledge and experience of patient safety and clinical effectiveness in an acute NHS environment.

You must be able to use your own initiative and have excellent organisational skills, and be able to prioritise your workload.

You should be enthusiastic, proactive, and able to communicate effectively to support the delivery of the governance agenda as an integral member of the clinical governance team.

You should be committed to delivering excellence in quality, safety, and patient experience.

Will be based at either York or Scarborough Hospital although some cross site support will be required.

Main duties of the job

In particular, we require the post holder to be able to demonstrate excellent skills in IT, managing complex data processes, and the management of all systems, databases and action logs that will facilitate the efficient monitoring of the Clinical Governance agenda.

Experience and knowledge of PSIRF, regulatory compliance, NICE, audit, clinical effectiveness and risk management required.

The post holder will facilitate and support work carried out by the Quality and Governance team in providing the Care Group with support to develop, monitor and maintain processes to ensure assurance can be provided for all areas of clinical governance.

This post would ideally suit a dynamic, experienced professional who has a passion for patient safety and quality of care. You must be able to use your own initiative and have excellent organisational skills.

The post holder should be enthusiastic, proactive, and able to communicate effectively.

In particular, we require the post holder to be a team player, work to deadlines and at pace, be able to demonstrate excellent skills in IT and have an understanding of databases and action logs that will facilitate the efficient monitoring of local agendas.

  • Degree and/or equivalent level of experience within a governance, quality or safety environment
  • Advanced word processing and computer literacy skills (including Microsoft Office) at RSA/NVQ2 level or equivalent experience
  • Patient Safety and Clinical Governance training (PSIRF) or equivalent experience

Desirable

  • Process/Project Management training or equivalent experience
  • Experience in using Incident reporting systems (e.g. DCIQ)
  • Awareness of the PSIRF process
