Job summary

The Cancer, Specialist and Clinical Support Services Care Group is looking to recruit an enthusiastic and dynamic individual to join the Management Administration Team, as an Assistant Secretary.

The role will involve supporting the day to day running of a number of specialties within the Care Group. The post holder will be responsible for providing meeting agendas and minutes, supporting with ordering of consumables and equipment, HR documentation and general administrative support to the team.

The post holder must be educated to GCSE grade C or above (including Maths and English) or equivalent, and be able to demonstrate excellent computer/IT skills to include Microsoft Office Packages. They must also have secretarial or administrative experience.

The post-holder will be required to work on-site at York Hospital. There may be an option to work from home on occasion, this would be discussed with the successful candidate

Main duties of the job

The successful candidate will require excellent organisational skills, be able to demonstrate the ability to work independently, using their own initiative and be willing to be adaptable and flexible to meet the needs of this very busy service.

We are looking for an individual that can work to high standard, who pays attention to detail and accuracy and has good written and oral communication skills as well as possessing excellent communication skills.
